Biography

Yongming was born in Linyi, Shandong, China. He earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Shandong University of Technology in 2016. He then pursued his M.S. in Polymer Chemistry and Physics at Dalian University of Technology under the guidance of Prof. Kaihua Shen, graduating in 2019. Yongming began his Ph.D. at Shanghai Jiao Tong University the same year, where he worked with Prof. Xuzhou Yan, focusing on mechanically interlocked polymers. Following the completion of his Ph.D., he continued his research as a postdoctoral scholar in the same group. In 2024, Yongming as a postdoctoral scholar joined the Dr. Junpeng Wang Lab in University of Akron, where he is pursuing his passion in polymer mechanochemistry. Currently, Yongming joined Lehigh University with Dr. Wang’s group, concentrating on designing and synthesizing polymers and mechanophores and to investigate their structure–reactivity relationships under mechanical force.
