Biography

Andy McCabe was born in Morristown, New Jersey and attended Chatham High School. He attended Ithaca College starting in 2016 where he was an active member of Ithaca Men’s Crew and did research in organic reaction development under the direction of Dr. Mike Haaf. Andy attended the University of Minnesota for graduate school and worked for Dr. Nicholas Race until Dr. Race moved to the pharmaceutical industry at which point Andy joined the lab of Dr. Alexander Grenning where he worked on the development of new asymmetric catalytic reactions specifically focused on the synthesis of optically active compounds featuring nitrogen-containing heterocycles. Andy graduated from the University of Minnesota in January 2026 and began at Lehigh in August of 2026 where he will be teaching Organic Chemistry.
